The "Green Book" (Compact Disc Interactive Full Functional Specification)
must be licensed from Philips (http://www.licensing.philips.com). You won't
find it on the Internet

I don't know what their current policy is, but in years past, you needed to
license all of the optical disc standards as a bundle, which would run into
thousands of dollars.

As far as Script2Disc is concerned, there were two different flavors: one
ran under SunOS (Unix) and the other under OS-9 on CD-i 605 development
systems, with SCSI hard drive units. Even if you had access to one of these
setups, S2D is pretty useless without MediaMogul to generate the scripting.
And then you'd find that MM is OK for fairly simple interactive slide shows,
but not much else.

For documentation, I think that icdia.org has copies of "Using Professional
OS-9" and "OS-9 Technical Manual" on their website, which, aside from the
GreenBook, are the "Bibles" of CD-i development. You should also be able to
find "The OS-9 Guru" (Paul S. Dayan) and "OS-9 Insights" (Peter Dibble),
which may also be helpful, at used book resources on the Internet.

Dear sir,
thank you for your answer, it is a pleasure to talk with a Philips
Media Software Engineer.

I have a cd-i project "CD-i for ever", which consists of making a
development kit for consummer cdi players and adapting a former
Philips PC a game for the cdi players.

Here my questions, if you could spend a little time to help me it
would be nice.

I have downloaded from the web mogulike which allows to make cdi
presentation with a PC, here what it is said :
"Mogulike is a 32bit Windows application for generating CD-i
applications on a normal Windows PC, no special hardware is required.
You can create and preview your CD-i programme within Mogulike, then
use Script2Disc (a separate programme) to build the CD image."
So, is there a PC version of Script2Disc ?
Where can I find or buy it ?
Where can I find or buy Script2Disc for cdi ?

I have access to the shell of consummer cdi player (cdi 210) using
Mediamogul which i downloaded from icdia, but whithout a disc i can do
nearly nothing.
So is there a software which allows me to use the PC hardrive using
the serial port ?
Someone has told me to use samba, but samba requires an ethernet card
ans ISP.

I will receive in a few days a cdi 605T player with an e2 emulator and
with an external scsi hardrive.
But I don't have any authoring softwares (i only got mediamogul) and i
don't know how to use the e2 emulator.
Could you help me please for using the e2 emulator ?

I have a exatype tape but not the driver for the 605.
I don't have a driver for a printer.
Perhaps do you know where i can find some drivers for the 605 player ?
Where can i find the doc for mediamogul ?

I know I have a lot of questions, but without help I will never
success in my cdi project.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards.
